Neat Seat: Overview

With its easy-to-remove seat pan, cleaning up after a meal is now as easy as lifting the seat pan up and out, and throwing it in the dishwasher or rinsing it in the sink. The constraint belt, which is attached directly to that seat pan, is also easy to detach and wash after a meal!

This seat is height adjustable allowing it to fit any table-chair combination. It can also clamp right on top of a table’s surface, providing a convenient location for a parent to assist a younger child during the meal. For a child just starting to learn how to eat, use of a constraint belt and tray with a built-in T-bar may be most desirable. As the child grows, removing the seat pan provides a more spacious seat.

The Neat Seat

The Winturn

The Winturn was a project developed for the IHA Student Design Competition and placed Honorable Mention in 2012. I currently have a provisional patent on this product as well protecting its revolving handle and double shovel connector ideas.

The product was designed to make shoveling safer than traditional ergonomic and standards shovels. There was also a large emphasis on consumer research to ensure that this product could meet marketing needs and concerns. Currently, I am in the process of creating different manufacturing options and design variations.

Pineapple Corer

Freelance project done in collaboration with an executive chef at Notre Dame to develop a durable pineapple corer for commercial kitchens.

Other Projects

2010. Speed form project. An imaginary creature was designed and modeled using high density foam.

2011. Group project for HealthWorks Kids' Museum in South Bend, IN. This was a one week project with the goal of designing an interactive traveling exhibit for the museum.

2010. Top 3 options for a wii head tracking device to incorporate Johnny Lee's (computer scientist and wii hacker) project entailing hacking a wii to create a head tracking gaming experience.

2009. Hacked a Wiimote to turn a TV into an interactive whiteboard.

2009. Created IR light pen to use on the wiimote interactive display screen.

Trojan Horse

Designed and managed construction and transportation of 22’ by 17' wooden Trojan horse used at Notre Dame pep rally; This was done from start to finish five days with team of 23 volunteer builders and a $1000 budget.
